From simple fabrication to complex structures.
Hallett Steel has the capability and experience to manufacture warehouses, office / showrooms, shopping centres, and multi-story dwellings, as well as residential homes for SA’s largest builders. We have fabricated selected plant and equipment for many mining companies, from hoppers, silos and conveyers to crushers and screening structures.
Hallett Steel are capable of earthmoving, mining, construction, quarry equipment repairs and maintenance. In addition, work including loader and excavator repairs, maintenance, plus various bucket and tipper repairs.
Our expansive workshop area with vast height ensures the largest projects can be fabricated and assembled without prior restrictions. Limitless yard and storage space enables bulk stock for efficient turnaround of projects. Our workshop consists of numerous giant overhead cranes, various fabrication equipment and machinery, shot blast and paint facilities.
Prior to fabrication of all projects, detailing is essential. Once structural (engineering), along with design (architectural) drawings are presented, our experienced and professional steel detailing team prepare shop drawings (and erection drawings (if applicable)) using 2D computer-aided drafting (CAD). These drawings are provided for customer review and approval.
Hallett Steel’s workshop is equipped with all the fundamental machinery, with tools required, to process structural steel including band cold saws, hydraulic power presses, magnetic drills, and various welding apparatus. Forklifts and overhead cranes assist in workshop transfer of steel members. Steel is cut, drilled, punched, and welded, for a number of diverse purposes. We also offer curved and rolled structures to suit a range of projects.
All welding is executed either as specified by the structural engineer or to the highest standard, meeting AS/NZS 1554.

Blasting & Coating
Steel’s premises include a blast and paint facility. Grit blasting (SA 2.5) removes all surface deposits on the fabricated steelwork, providing a coarse surface prior to coating. Zinc silicates along with high build epoxy paint systems are then applied to meet Australian standards. Hot dip galvanising and various top coating is also available.
