The Project
Hallett Resources – Stage 1 of the Main South Road duplication, part of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s Fleurieu Connections Project involved the duplication of Main South Road for 9.8km of the road and grade separation of two intersections at Tatachilla and Aldinga. The project started in 2022 with the first delivery of quarry material from McLaren Vale Quarries and finished with the last delivery of quarry materials in January 2024. McLaren Vale Quarries supplied over 500k tonnes of materials to this project.
Hallett Transport – Facilitated all the deliveries of these products from the quarry to the project sites.

All material was supplied to DIT standards. All wet mixed material was produced through the two pugmills onsite at the quarry. McLaren Vale Quarries is the only quarry in the southern suburbs with a pugmill that can produce cement treated pavement materials. They have a pugging capacity in excess of 400 t per hour. A state of the art crushing plant was built in 2015 with recent upgrades to increase productivity.
